Year 9 pupils have been programming Lego robots in preparation for the FIRST LEGO League; a global robotics competition, tackling modern problems to help pupils to build a better future together. The competition is built around a theme-based challenge where the pupils complete tasks around research, problem solving, coding, and engineering.

Their challenge is to programme robots to solve the future challenges of space exploration. Answering questions such as can we create self-sustaining, reliable human environments that allow us to create lasting bases in space, on the surface of the Moon or on the planets like Mars. Each year we aim to create a team of future scientists and engineers to compete against other schools in the local area with the goal of reaching the national or even world finals.
